Print My Mags wasn't created in a boardroom. It came from a guy in Ohio with too many hobbies, a serious technology addiction, and a habit of looking at ordinary things and asking, "How can I make that cooler?"
BUY COOL TECH.
MAKE COOL STUFF.
Somewhere along the way, that turned into Print My Mags.
It Started With Curiosity.
I've always been the person who gets interested in something and immediately takes it too far.
Technology, 3D printing, fabrication, electronics, design, customization — if there's a machine that can make something, there's a pretty good chance I want to know how it works.
Eventually that curiosity landed on full-color printing and customization. I started looking at magazines and thought the same thing I usually think: why does this have to be boring?
That question became Print My Mags.
Black Is Fine.
But It Doesn't Have
To Be The Only Option.
Most magazines look exactly how you'd expect them to look. Black. Flat. Functional.
There's nothing wrong with that.
But if everything else you own can reflect your personality, interests, artwork or style, why shouldn't this?
Print My Mags exists to make something ordinary feel personal.
Most of my projects start with me saying, “I wonder if I can do that.”And Then Spending Way Too Much Time Finding Out
Too Many Hobbies.
Some people collect stamps. I apparently collect technologies, machines and projects.
Technology
If it's new, weird, programmable or probably unnecessary, I'm interested.
Making Stuff
Designing, printing, fabricating and finding new ways to turn ideas into physical things.
Customization
Stock is fine. Personalized is better. That's basically the entire idea here.
Rabbit Holes
One YouTube video becomes three machines, twelve browser tabs and a new business idea.
Because I Wanted One.
A lot of the things I've built started because I wanted something that either didn't exist, wasn't easy to get, or wasn't being done the way I thought it could be done.
Print My Mags is the same story.
I wanted the ability to take something normally treated as purely functional and turn it into a canvas.
Your artwork. Your colors. Your idea.
Then I figured other people might want the same thing.
Make It Cool
If we're going to make something custom, it should actually look custom.
Keep Learning
Better technology, better processes and better ideas should always be part of the next version.
Have Some Fun
This company exists because hobbies are supposed to be fun. The brand should feel the same way.
